Choosing An Insurance Company
|
|
| |
Anytime you make a purchase, it is important to know you can trust the person from whom you are buying. This is especially true when making a major purchase such as insurance for your business. In doing do, you will want to determine which insurance company and which representing agent is best for your business.
Granted this is easier said than done, but without too much effort you can find out whether or not a company is giving you your money's worth.
Consider the following:
- Your insurance company should understand your business. You should look for a company that is most responsive to the needs of your business. Ask around in your industry, find out who insures other businesses like yours.
- Your insurance company should be flexible. Rather than "this is our policy" approach to services, your insurance company should be willing to adapt to your needs and circumstances over time. You may have to pay a fee for some services, but the important thing is that the company doesn't place you on the bottom of their list once your premium check comes in.
- Your insurance company shouldn't make you feel too small. Find out whether a company is truly committed to your kind of business by talking with people from that company.
- Your insurance company should be convenient. If selected carefully and used creatively, can mean far more to your company than just a place to buy insurance.
